Announcements

      • Practice runs as regular schedule Friday, July 3rd and Monday, July 6th.
      • In the summer, storms are prevalent mostly in the afternoon. There is the rare occasion when swimmers do a rain dance that conjures up a storm with thunder and the possilbe lightning that may occur during our morning practice at Ginty. This is an extremely rare situation. Most of the time it will just rain. In the event of rain, we HAVE PRACTICE! The coaches don't mind getting wet and let's face it, the swimmers will be wet anyway. There is a pavilion that the swimmers can keep their clothes/bags dry and we can seek shelter in the event of a storm that keeps us out of the water. All recommended American Red Cross procedures will be followed when it comes to storms and when the team will be allowed back into the water. In the event of an early practice dismisal due to bad weather, the staff will stay with the swimmers until they are picked up. You can bet that the majority of the time, we have practice. When in doubt, call the hotline at 973-334-0091 and press "7" for swim team info.
      • We are attending the Championship Meets for the long course season this summer (Silvers/JO's). In order for a swimmer to participate in these meets, he/she must be currently participating in the Spring Swim Team Clinic in addition to training with LHY during the summer. If you are planning on attending any of these meets, please email the office with the names of the meets you are going to be attending. If you are only able to attend certain days on a multi-day meet, please indicate as such. Meet dates and names are listed on the Swim Schedules page. swimteam@lhymca.com
      • In the event of poor weather conditions, please call the YMCA hotline at 973-334-0091 and press "7" at the greeting to get to swim team information. The YMCA does everything possible to remain open. Please use your discretion when traveling in poor weather. Any changes or cancellations to practice or meets will be recorded on the hotline and posted on the website. No messages will be retrieved from the hotline.
